Have you ever read a horoscope, and thought to yourself "wow, that describes me?".

I have always been fascinated with learning how someone's star sign can often give an insight into their key qualities. To me, horoscopes dive into it natural occurrences we can not control as humans. We can not control when we are born, we can not control the stars. I believe that our birth, and the natural world, have a supernatural and spiritual connection that can be interpreted through horoscopes.

Born on July 23, I have identified closely with dramatic and expressive traits that define Leos. But, being that July 23 is the first day of Leo, I have also noticed that many Cancerian traits, like sensitivity and emotional awareness, also apply to me.

July 19-25 marks a time where star signs begin to transition. People born during "cusps" often have a balance of qualities from their shared star signs. The Cancer-Leo Cusp can be referred to as the"Cusp of Oscilation", due to volatile nature and constant dissonance between what defines the two signs. Cancers and Leos are made from the most opposite elements that natural, and supernatural, realms can offer! Cancers are a water sign, who are ruled by the moon. The moon is representative of nighttime, and feminine energy, which causes Cancers to be in tune with their sensitivity and intuition. Conversely, Leos are a fire sign, who are ruled by the sun. The sun is representative of daytime, and masculine energy; fierceness, expression, and strength. Mixing night and day, fire and water, masculine versus feminine, etc... causes a struggle for balance. Cancer- Leo Cusps will live a life full of highs, and lows, and will never see a dull moment. As a Cancer-Leo Cusp, I feel like the ultimate Ambivert. At one minute, I can feel reserved as a Cancer, and within a few minutes, I can become the Leo life-of-the-party.

Learning about this complexity has been eye-opening, as I can relate to both signs. I am hoping that in educating myself on the positive, and negative, traits of being born on a cusp that I can find a steady balance in the polarity. Were you born during a cusp?
